ENTERTAINMENT DESTINATIONS
We continue to look for new ways to deliver to our fans beyond matchday with year-round entertainment destinations and best-in-class experiences that bring communities together, including New York City’s first soccer stadium and the Entertainment Destination at the Etihad Stadium.
TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP
We work with technology partners to drive both on and off-pitch performance. Our partners at Qualtrics help us listen and understand fans needs to improve their experience and our investment in Sapphire Sport venture capital platform helps propel the next generation’s companies of consequences.
CONTENT CREATION
City’s in-house media team continue to set the standard in world football, powered by industry-leading in-house Media Hub City Studios, which blends creative and production teams with high spec studio facilities. City+ OTT content platform allows fans to access live games and behind-the-scenes content. Man City were also the first football club to feature in Amazon’s All or Nothing.
GAMING, METAVERSE & ESPORTS
We continue to explore innovative new fan engagement activities, with a proof of concept partnership to build a virtual Etihad Stadium inside the Metaverse with Sony, the launch of ‘Blue Moon’ experience on Roblox, various digital art drops, collaborations with leading Esports organisations and dedicated Esports teams across our clubs with both EA FC and Fortnite players.
FOOTBALL EDUCATION
We work to increase access to the world’s game through City Football Schools and Coaching Education – see examples from Manchester here and here. These bespoke programmes use City’s philosophy and methodology. We also embrace emerging technology across the football education sector, such as Cityplay, a wearable performance tracker for young players.
RECREATIONAL FOOTBALL
We run Sofive Soccer Centres across the US where players of all levels can enjoy small-sided games with modern facilities equipped with digital scoreboards and HD cameras for video playback. These facilities provide a built-in football community for beginners to seasoned players alike.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
The City Football Leadership Institute programmes explore the world of football, sports business and leadership, from executive education to programs designed for teens.
